Community rules
Last updated October 6, 2026
Polltater works because people answer honestly and argue in good faith. These rules are the short version of our terms.
Ask good questions
- Make it answerable: clear wording, answers that don't overlap, and an “Other” or middle option when it matters.
- Guessing questions need one right answer you can back up.
- Only post photos you took or have the right to use. Picture questions need a picture on every answer.
- Pick the right category so people can find (or skip) it.
Be decent
- Disagree with the answer, not the person. No harassment, pile-ons or slurs.
- No hate toward people based on who they are, and no threats or calls for violence.
- Don't post someone's private details: names of private people, addresses, phone numbers, photos of them without permission.
- Don't tag or award someone to bother them.
Keep it clean
- Nothing sexual, and nothing involving minors in any inappropriate way. Ever.
- Mark a question 18+ when it's about drinking, gambling, crude humor or other grown-up topics. 18+ questions are off by default: adults can turn them on in Settings, and they're never shown to accounts under 18.
- No graphic violence or gore.
Keep it real
- One person, one account. No bots, vote-stuffing or fake accounts to swing results or farm points.
- No spam, scams, ads or links to sketchy sites.
- Don't pretend to be someone else.
If something's wrong
Tap the flag on any question or comment to report it. Anything reported by several people is hidden while we review it. You can also block anyone from their profile: you won't see each other's questions or comments, and they can't add, tag or award you.
We remove content that breaks these rules, take back points earned by breaking them, and suspend repeat offenders. Something we missed, or an idea? Send us feedback.
